8. How to Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication in DSA Cloud

Security is paramount when managing a digital signage network. The updated Digital Signage Solutions (DSA) Cloud interface allows you to add an extra layer of protection to your account by enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

In this tutorial, we will walk you through the process of setting up MFA using a mobile authenticator app. You will learn how to generate your secure QR code, link your mobile device, log in with your new time-sensitive credentials, and safely reset your MFA settings if needed.

Key Features Highlighted

  • Enhanced Security: Protect your account from unauthorized access by requiring a time-sensitive, 6-digit code during the login process.

  • App Integration: Seamlessly connect with popular and trusted mobile authenticator applications, such as the Google Authenticator App or the Microsoft Authenticator App.

  • Trusted Devices: Conveniently choose the “Do not ask me again for 30 days” option during login to streamline access on your personal or work devices.

  • Easy Reset Process: Quickly reset or remove your MFA configuration at any time by simply verifying your account password.

Step-by-Step Guide: Setting Up MFA

Step 1: Generating Your QR Code

  1. Access Account Settings: From your DSA Cloud dashboard, click on your account profile icon in the top right corner and select Account Setting from the dropdown menu.

  2. Navigate to MFA: In the left-hand menu, select the MFA tab.

  3. Download an Authenticator: If you do not have one already, follow the on-screen links to download an authenticator application (like Google or Microsoft Authenticator) from your mobile app store.

  4. Generate Code: In the “Enter Password” field, type in your standard DSA Cloud account password and click the Generate MFA QR Code button.

Step 2: Linking Your Device

  1. Scan the Code: Open your chosen authenticator app on your smartphone, select the option to add new credentials, and use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.

  2. Enter the Authentication Code: Your app will generate a 6-digit number. Type this number into the “Enter Code” field below the QR code on your computer screen.

  3. Confirm: Click the Confirm button. A success message will appear at the top of the screen confirming “MFA setup complete!”

Step 3: Logging In with MFA

  1. Initial Login: The next time you log out and return to the DSA Cloud login screen, enter your email and password as usual and click Login.

  2. Authenticate: An “Authenticate User” window will pop up. Open your mobile authenticator app to retrieve your current 6-digit code and enter it into the text box.

  3. Verify: Check the box if you want the system to remember your device for 30 days, then click Verify to access your dashboard.

Step 4: Resetting MFA

  1. Access MFA Settings: If you ever need to reset or remove your MFA connection, return to Account Setting and select the MFA tab.

  2. Initiate Reset: Click the green Reset MFA text.

  3. Confirm Identity: A popup window will appear. Enter your standard account password and click the green Reset button to confirm the removal of the authentication link.
