Now that your locations and licenses are set up, it’s time to bring your screens to life! The updated Digital Signage Solutions (DSA) Cloud interface makes managing your media and curating content incredibly straightforward.
In this tutorial, we will walk you through the process of creating a brand-new playlist from scratch. You will learn how to quickly filter and select media from your gallery, customize how each piece of content displays using transition effects and custom durations, and even add interactive hyperlinks. Finally, we’ll show you how to nest existing playlists as “subplaylists” to keep your larger content loops organized and engaging.
Intuitive Media Browser: Easily filter your media using System or User Tags, and toggle between clean Thumbnail or detailed List views to find exactly what you need.
Custom Media Parameters: Tailor your playback by adding transition styles (like Fade, Scroll, or Zoom) and precise screen durations (down to the second) for each individual media file.
Interactive Capabilities: Easily attach hyperlinks to specific media items for interactive touch-screen setups.
Subplaylist Integration: Streamline your content management by inserting pre-existing playlists directly into new ones.
Seamless Playback Logic: When a player reaches a subplaylist, it will play that subplaylist’s media in its entirety from start to finish before seamlessly moving on to the next item in your main playlist.
Step 1: Creating a New Playlist
Navigate to Playlists: From your DSA Cloud dashboard, select the Playlist tab from the top navigation menu.
Create New: Click the green + Create Playlist button on the left side of the screen, then select New.
Name Your Playlist: A popup window will appear. Enter a descriptive name for your playlist in the text box and click the green Create button.
Step 2: Adding and Configuring Media
Select Your Playlist: Click on your newly created playlist from the “Available Playlists” list on the left. The playlist’s content area will display on the right.
Open Media Gallery: Click the green + Add button in the top right corner and select Add Media.
Choose Your Media: Browse your gallery to find the images or videos you want. You can use the icons in the top right to toggle between Thumbnail and List views. Check the boxes next to the media items you want to include, then click Add at the bottom right.
Set Display Parameters: A settings window will appear for the items you selected.
Transition: Use the dropdown to select a transition style (e.g., Fade, Scroll Left, Zoom).
Duration: Adjust how long each media item displays by setting the Hours (HH), Minutes (MM), and Seconds (SS).
(Optional) Add a Hyperlink if you are configuring content for an interactive screen.
Confirm: Click Ok to apply these settings. Your media will now appear in your playlist sequence!
Step 3: Adding a Subplaylist
Open Subplaylist Menu: To insert a pre-existing playlist into your current one, click the green + Add button again and select Add Subplaylist.
Select the Playlist: Use the dropdown menu in the popup window to choose the existing playlist you want to nest inside your current one.
Confirm: Click Add.
Review: Your subplaylist will now appear as an item alongside your other added media. Note: The player will display your media sequentially as normal, but when it reaches the subplaylist, it will run through all the subplaylist’s media from start to finish before moving on to the next item in the main playlist.
